We have had Tornado tested by MMI Genomics Inc. for Tru-Polled results.

What is Tru-Polled ???

Every animal has two copies of each gene. One copy of each gene is inhereited from the sire and the other copy inherited from the dam. Polled is a dominant gene meaning animals with one or two copies of the polled gene will be phenotypically polled. Animals having two copies of the polled gene (as Tornado Z260 has) Homozygous polled, will produce  phenotypically polled offspring.

Tru-Polled results are reported in one of the following four categories:

Homozygous Polled = 2 copies of the polled gene.

Heterozygous Polled = 1 copies of the polled gene.

Horned =    0 copies of the polled gene.

Inconclusive =  the test cannot determine if the animal has copies of the polled gene.

Maternal brother to Studbrook D'artagnion V086, Bowen Tornado Z260's dam, Tricel P180 is a full sister to Bowen Qantas Q176, year 2000 APHS Sire of the Year.
